Alphaville - Big In Japan - Forever Young(1984)

Alphaville é um grupo musical alemão de synthpop que ganhou popularidade nos anos 1980. A banda é mais famosa pelos seus dois maiores êxitos, "Big in Japan" e "Forever Young".
Inicialmente,o Alphaville foi composto por Marion Gold e Bernhard Lloyd.Chega Frank Mertens,que se associa à Banda,em meados de 1982 e 1983. Os três,então,começam a preparação de um disco,e lançam "Forever Young".A música título do disco, passou então a ser o maior sucesso da banda, garantindo-lhes o espaço no cenário Alemão e Mundial.

Na terra do Kraftwerk , surge então uma banda, que como as inglesas, totalmente influenciadas pelo Kraftwerk que inventaram o New Romantic (Romantismo do século 19, com os sintetizadores do séc 20), numa alquimia desde a melancolia ao look ultra-futurista, um movimento que se preocupava com o que tocar, tinha o máximo de atenção com o que vestir, e mais ainda, que visual deveriam ter para os fãs. Sem dúvida nenhuma o New Romantic é o estilo que mais se preocupou com o visual, aliás visual fúlgido e andrógino diga-se de passagem, é o estilo mais marcante da década de 80. Na Alemanha como não podia demorar muito, já no final de 81, Marian Gold e Bernhard Lloyd , juntos participam de um show com com mais 5 outros artistas da Nelson Community. E finalmente em 1982 surge a primeira banda New Romantic alemã. Em 82 já quase no final do NR na Inglaterra, começa então na Alemanha, mais precisamente na cidade de Münster, uma banda semi-desconhecida, chamada Forever Young . Aliás um nome perfeito para quem tentasse garantir a sobrevivência dos NRs por mais alguns anos. Mas não durou muito e logo, como típicos NRs, encontraram um nome bem futurista pra banda. Do filme de Jean-Luc Goddard : Alphaville , a cidade do futuro. Os cidadãos de Alphaville são pessoas que sempre aparecem nas letras da banda, em situações bem típicas, como numa mitologia, vão aparecendo os personagens e suas histórias, detalhe importantíssimo das letras da banda, como se fosse realmente uma história, talvez nunca ninguém tenha feito toda a sua carreira musical contando uma história, descrevendo as pessoas, e o mundo tão futurista, uma mistura de Homero e Isaac Azimov . Bem essa é uma das bandas mais futuristas dos anos 80, com uma preocupação impecável com o que cantar, como se vestir, e como fazer o ouvinte viajar de verdade pelas suas músicas. Uma viagem da mitologia ao futuro fantástico. Sempre com muitos sintetizadores, teclados, computadores e ideologia, socialistas, é claro.
